“Any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.” Lk 14:33

Ask yourself this question - “Is my relationship with Jesus moving from casual to committed?”

The dictionary defines admiration as “the sense of wonder, delight, and pleased approval inspired by anything fine, skillful, beautiful.
The dictionary defines devotion as religious worship; loyalty or deep affection.

Which description (admiration or devotion) looks most like your relationship to Jesus?

For a few minutes, close your eyes and imagine yourself wholly devoted to Christ. Picture yourself as a totally committed follower. What would you do? What expression would appear on your face? Don’t rush this exercise - take time to focus - What would be different in your life?

As you meditate and some sin comes to mind - confess it immediately and receive Jesus’ forgiveness. Do not give Satan a foothold by holding on to your guilt.

Thank the Lord for the good things as you recall them, and imagine Him receiving your thanks. Finally, imagine Jesus praying over you like a parent would pray over their child.
